Bringing it home to Pembs

Pembrokeshire Weightlifting athletes have made an outstanding performance and achieved a large medal haul at the British Virtual Championships.

The event saw an unprecedented number of entries from across the UK with lifters from development all the way up to masters, entering the competition. In total there were 425 lifters.

Dan Davies secured big lifts and personal bests in the u17 division, 67kg weight category. Gold medal and British champion. 82kg Snatch / 103kg Clean and Jerk.

Team mate Kyle Colella made exceptionally large improvements since his last competition. with huge personal bests, Kyle won bronze in the u20 division, 89kg weight category. 89kg Snatch / 115kg Clean and Jerk.

Grace Morris impressed Coaches and Technical Officials with an outstanding performance in the u15 category becoming the British Champion, with a 48kg Snatch and a 63kg Clean and Jerk.

Team mate Ffion Barnikel hit personal bests in the u17 category, 55kg body weight category, gaining a bronze medal with a 41kg snatch and a 54kg Clean and Jerk.

Lotty Whalley lifted exceptionally well with another solid performance securing the gold medal and British Championship title. U17 division, 59kg weight category. 67kg Snatch. 80kg Clean and Jerk.

Achieving even more personal bests, Chloe Hood gained the Gold medal in the u20 division, becoming British Champion with a 79kg Snatch and a 96kg Clean and Jerk.
