Pembrokeshire Youth Bank Funding support has enabled a youth member from SAW to become a fully qualified British Weightlifitng coach.
Over the winter lockdown, Lotty Whalley begin studying and has now completed all assessments to be awarded both the level one and level two National Governing Body qualifications. Additional qualifications such as first aid and safeguarding along with an enhanced DBS have been completed.
SAW already has a successful Weightlifting club in place where youth and older members meet weekly as a training group, which has a very positive affect on training progression and also creates a supportive club and friendly environment, greatly benefitting well-being post Covid lockdowns.
The Pembrokeshire Youth bank project will support secondary school age pupils to learn to lift. This six week introduction to Weightlifting will be coached by Lotty Whalley as the Level two British Weightlifitng Coach leading the sessions, supported by SAW’s academy coaching and volunteering team.
