The Weightlifting Wales Annual Awards Evening, held at Bangor University was very well supported by Pembrokeshire Weightlifting, we were delighted that so many of our members, inclusive of parents, lifters and volunteers were able to spend the evening within the Nation’s Weightlifting community.
Celebrating the success of the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games and the development of the sport in Wales was presented throughout the evening.
Three Pembrokeshire volunteers gained recognition for their community work within Pembrokeshire and also for their volunteer work with both Weightlifting Wales and British Weightlifting. Darren Rogers and Stephen Donovan gained high recommendations from the National Governing Body and Jim Horner was awarded with the Volunteer of the Year.
In the Athlete of the year award, one of our youngest members, Dan Davies was also highly commended by the National Governing Body.
